Cristina Celestino designs the new Gala seating system for Saba, inaugurating her collaboration with the company. Subtly evoking the retro-futuristic atmosphere of the sofas of the 1970s, the new collection explores the flexibility of upholstery with a non-gendered, sculptural and sophisticated volume, inviting the interpretation of different visions of interiors, whether in a residential or hotel setting.

The centerpiece is a vertical divider that creates pleated curves ready to accommodate footstools of varying depths in front and behind. The composition opens the possibility of multiple configurations, giving life to a "hybrid" and flexible sofa that encourages interaction.

In the collective imagination, the name Gala is associated with a concept of elegance and sophistication, but Gala also represents an ornament, a decoration made with a strip of crepe fabric and, in our case, Gala becomes the very structure of the upholstery. Gala is also one of the planets of Star Wars and a diverted tribute to the world of stars, optimism and avant-garde typical of the time.
